Beatriz Tobin

Beatriz Tobin has over 24 years of experience as an educator. She has great passion for her native Spanish language and culture. She will be teaching Spanish III and IIB MYP. Her experience includes teaching Mathematics and Spanish ranging in grades 6th through University level. She received a Bachelors of Science in Education degree from SWTSU with a major in Math and a Minor in Spanish and her Masters in Spanish literature from Arkansas Tech University. She has attended MYP level II and Ab Initio training. Outside of the school setting Beatriz Tobin has both taught conversational Spanish and worked as a translator for various private businesses and church groups. She was also the Title III Activities Coordinator at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

As an educator, her goal is to help students learn Spanish, appreciate other cultures, discover and make connections, and become productive citizens prepared and ready to lead their generation in this complex and ever changing world.

She and her husband currently reside in Georgetown and have been married for over 30 years. They have 3 children; one graduated from SHSU with an English degree, another who graduated from UNT majoring in Event Management-Finance and their youngest graduated from Texas Tech College of Nursing. They are a family that believes in service and have gone on over 27 short-term Mexico mission trips in the last 14 years as well as do volunteer work in the community.
