About the Class:
Hip Hop Sweat dance class is the perfect program for 3-5th grade students who love hip hop and fun, fast paced, cardio workouts! We will spend our weekly class learning new moves and choreography while also increasing our cardiovascular endurance. Our goal is to perform our choreography at the end of the semester to show off all of the students' hard work.
Meet the Instructor:
Mandi Griffin joined Meridian in August 2014 as a first grade teacher. Originally from Fort Worth, she has a degree in Education/Child Study and Language Development from Southwestern University. Mandi is certified in early childhood through 4th grade, PE and ESL (English as a Second Language), and came to Meridian from Alief ISD, a progressive district on the west side of Houston, where she taught fourth grade. With experience in primary grades at a charter school prior to teaching in Alief, she was excited to return to the charter experience at Meridian. A passion for physical education led her to move to the position of PE/Wellness teacher for K-5 in August 2016. However, the desire to return to the grade level classroom led her to take an opportunity to join the third grade team in January 2018. She believes that her role as a teacher is to help students ignite their passion for learning and help them reach their goals. She is excited to be a part of our school and community!
