Abby McNeal

Abby McNeal grew up in Temple, Texas and graduated from Temple High School with an IB Diploma. She was an exchange student in Kerpen, Germany in 2009. Her higher levels were English, History, and German, and her standard levels were Math, Biology, and Physics. Mrs. McNeal graduated with her Bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University in 2015 with a major in University Studies - Math for Teaching and minors in STEM Education and Coaching. During her time in College Station, Abby was a part of the aggieTEACH Program and worked in the aggieTEACH Office, helping to provide professional development to secondary educators. She then joined the faculty of Magnolia West High School in Magnolia, Texas for six years. She was part of pioneering the IB Diploma Programme there and taught IB Math Studies SL for four years and then IB Math Applications and Interpretations SL after the new math courses were implemented in 2020. She also taught Algebra 1, both on-level and co-teach, for all six of those years. Abby was the UIL Calculator Applications Sponsor and NHS Co-Sponsor, and also coached soccer, volleyball, and cheer. She received the Rookie Teacher of the Year award for both Magnolia West High School and Magnolia ISD in 2017. She also received Teacher of the Month for Magnolia West High School. In 2021, Mrs. McNeal joined the Meridian family as an Algebra 1 teacher. She enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, and musicals. She believes that all students are capable of learning.
