EXPANSION: BUILDING MINDS
In August of 2013, Meridian School welcomed 970 students in Kinder through 10th grade. Phase II and III was completed over the summer break to accommodate this growth.  To accomplish this expansion we borrowed half of the $1,300,000 construction cost. We began the expansion campaign to raise $650,000 in October of 2012 and have thus far raised $350,000. Meridian School must raise the remaining amount by the end of 2014.

The Meridian School Expansion was originally anticipated to be two phases over two years, but the growth was so strong, the Board determined to move forward with both Phase II and Phase III simultaneously, saving $60K-$75K in demolition and construction costs.

Phase I is the original space occupied in 2011 and now houses all of the primary school.

Phase II completed in the summer of 2013, includes: the new secondary lobby entrance *a state of the art science lab  *a middle school science lab  *a theater room *the secondary library  *the secondary cafeteria space  *6 classrooms  *secondary administrative suite  and *restrooms.

Phase III also completed in the summer of 2013, includes: *6 classrooms *a fine arts room  *restrooms  *a second multi-purpose space and will be occupied as a 6th grade center in 2014.
