Chris Fancher comes to Meridian from Manor ISD where he was an Instructional Coach for 3 years at a very diverse middle school. He brings expertise in Project Based Learning (PBL) gleaned from 4 years of teaching Math and Engineering at the nationally recognized Manor New Technology High School. As a member of the National Faculty for the Buck Institute for Education (BIE.org), he facilitates PBL training all over the U.S. and he has spoken at numerous conferences on the subject.

Mr. Fancher has been in education for over 20 years and has taught at every level from 6th grade math/science to college level algebra and statistics.  He has taught in 4 states as well as in Japan and the Netherlands. Within Texas he has worked with regional education centers where he wrote PBL units for geometry and he consulted with Educate Texas (formerly the Texas High School Project) coaching and presenting at summer institutes. 

Chris has degrees in math, engineering, and education and retired from the US Naval Reserve. He has been married for over 25 years and has two children.
