Jean Hikida

Jean Hikida joined Meridian in August 2016 as a first grade teacher. Jean is originally from Houston and has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Japanese from Brigham Young University. She worked as a substitute teacher in Kailua, Hawaii before moving to Texas. Once here, she gained her certification in Texas in early childhood through fourth grade, and she has worked for six years as a teacher and a part-time IB Coordinator in a private school near Lakeway, which is an IB-PYP authorized school. During this time, she worked with both early years and 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. Jean has completed Category 1 and Advanced IB-PYP training. She enjoys working with collaborative teams as a part of the IB approach to learning and wants to further her own experiences at a highly acclaimed PYP school such as Meridian.
