Nancy Spence is in her third year at Meridian. She earned her B.A. in English and a Minor in Education at Kent State University in Ohio while being an active member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She spent one year working as a Language Arts teacher for Garfield Heights ISD, OH. After getting married, she moved to California and taught 6th grade at High Point Academy in Pasadena. Her family moved to Texas in 1994, where she spent several years active in the local PTA, founded a neighborhood summer camp, led several Cub Scout dens, and volunteered her time in a variety of organizations. As her children became more independent, she earned her Masters of Education in Counseling at Texas State University in 2011. Afterwards, she pursued her LPC licensure while working as a school counselor for Round Rock ISD. There she garnered experience with running a full Middle School counseling program. Nancy is past president of the CTCA, the local chapter of the Texas Counseling Association as well as the Middle School Representative on the Texas School Counseling Board. Currently she has four grown children, two rotund cats, and a dashing husband. For balance, she plays on a tennis team, practices the piano with two fingers, and enjoys the outdoors.
