Emily is a graduate from Texas State University with a BA and MA in Spanish focusing on linguistics, and Iberian & Latinx literature and history. Additionally, she has completed Category 1 training for IB and TIBBS MYP training. During her BA, she studied abroad at the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo in Sevilla, Spain. While student teaching, she realized she wanted to learn more about linguistics in order to better serve her students. This led her to back to Texas State University to continue her studies of Spanish and Education. During her graduate program, she was a research assistant for the international conference, Southwest Council of Latin American Studies (SCOLAS), returned to Spain to work abroad for the university in Valladolid, Spain and was a Spanish 1 instructor. She was also a member of the Spanish Honor Society and International Honor Society in Education. In her spare time, she enjoys playing soccer, hiking with her dog and traveling to new places.
