After spending several years in the business sector, Mr. Strickland decided to return to college to pursue his lifelong dream to become an educator. He attended Abilene Christian University, receiving his undergraduate degree in secondary education, a Master’s degree in Secondary Teaching, a Master’s degree in School Principalship and certification as a superintendent. After graduating from ACU, Mr. Strickland began his career in education at Brentwood Christian School in Austin as a social studies teacher, volleyball, basketball, and baseball coach. He also served as the assistant athletic director for the school. He then served as an administrator at Dripping Springs High School, Boys Ranch High School, Hutto High School, and in Round Rock ISD as both a high school and middle school administrator. Mr. Strickland has also served as an adjunct professor in the Graduate School of Education for Abilene Christian University.

Mr. Strickland has made education a priority in his life both as his profession and his passion. He is a fierce advocate for the student and teacher working closely with each to ensure success in our classrooms and on our campus. He and his partner, John, live in Austin and enjoy spending time doing all things Austin including biking the greenbelts and spending time on one of the Hill Country lakes or on the beaches along the Gulf. They are also avid Texas Longhorn fans and love spending time with friends and family.
