Welcome to a new school year

Welcome back to a very special year at Meridian!

As you know, Meridian's vision is to develop responsible citizens who will enjoy a good life with others. Building relationships and community is an integral part of the good life and we are placing that at the forefront of our intentions this year. That, in addition to our authorization as an IB Continuum, will be focal points. You may recall that IB programs (i.e. PYP, MYP, or DP) must undergo reevaluation every five years by the International Baccalaureate Organization. This time around, however, we are being authorized from K-12 for all of our programs. Only a handful of schools across the state have the IB Continuum authorization - an achievement of which we will be very proud.

Another big cause for celebration this year is that our first kinder students from 2011 will graduate in the Class of 2024! As they say, for those who didn’t come in 2011, “they got here as fast as they could" to make this our largest graduating class yet! We are so excited to see these “originals” (as they have dubbed themselves) through their final year.

We aspire for our students, faculty, and families to embrace the IB learner profile and the joy of learning that continues beyond the school years. This summer, our staff members took 45 IB workshops, along with other quality professional development opportunities.

We enjoyed see everyone back to school today.
