US News & World Report’s rankings of schools

We are so happy to share that Meridian has ranked #1 rank among high schools in Williamson County, #5 in the Austin metro area and 56 in Texas high schools in the most recent US News & World Report’s rankings of schools that came out August 29.

“We’re proud to share that we’ve consistently ranked in the top schools in the area since we opened in 2011,” said Karalei Nunn, Founder & CEO. “Meridian also features a robust Model United Nations program that competes throughout the United States, and we offer an array of sports that includes the TCSAAL State Champion Boys Volleyball team for two consecutive years.”

We pride ourselves in our IB programmes as they develop students’ intellectual and personal skills to work in an ever-globalizing world. Starting with the PYP (K-5), to MYP (6-10), and the DP (11-12), students continue to learn and grow across the IB continuum.

As most of you know, we offer several special components unique to IB, including student-led projects like the 4th Grade Passion Project, 5th Grade Exhibition, 10th Grade Personal Project, and the Extended Essay. Starting in middle school students take class in design where students test and develop models, prototypes, products, and systems. In high school students may take classes like Theory of Knowledge in which students inquire into different ways of knowing, and into different kinds of knowledge.

We believe in the development of the whole child and encourage the diverse student organizations and many other extracurricular activities we have. Our primary families have access to a robust Triple A After School program that allows students in Kindergarten through fifth grade enrichment opportunities outside of the classroom.

In addition to the US News & World Report’s rankings, we rank highly in Niche’s 2023 K-12 School and District Rankings. Niche ranks the school as #2 among elementary schools in Texas, #3 for middle schools in Texas, and #23 for high schools in Texas.
