Checkout policies
Each student may check out 3 books at a time, and books are due two weeks later. Students may renew their books once on their own by logging on to their Destiny account or by bringing the book back to the library and scanning to renew it. If a student needs more time with a book, they must then bring the book back to the library in order to check out the book again. This will be available as long as there is not a hold on the book.

Fines
Students will be charged $.10 per day that a book is overdue, up to $5.00. If a book is lost, the student will be asked to pay the replacement value on the book. Students who owe fines or money for lost books will not be allowed to check out new books until the fines have been cleared. If a student pays for a lost book, then later finds the book, the money can be refunded as long as the book is returned within one month of the date the fine was paid. If a lost book is found after this time, the student may keep the book or donate it back to the library.

Using the Destiny system
Students may search the library catalog without logging in. By logging in, students can create and access resource lists, review books, place a hold on an item, and see items checked out, fines due, and the status of a hold. To get or update your username and password, see Ms. MacWatters in the library before school.

Donating to the secondary library
We are continuing to grow our secondary library collection. The bulk of our print collection will be fiction materials with our major non-fiction resources being digital. We accept donations of hardback books in good condition and we love Half-Price Books! Paperback books in good condition will be offered to classroom teachers for their classroom libraries.
