Meet the 2017-2018 After School Enrichment Program Team!
Mrs. Elliott - Triple A Manager
Eunice Elliott joined Meridian in July 2016 as the Triple A After School Enrichment Program Manager. Mrs. Elliott has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. Her professional skill set has developed through her roles of community project manager, neighborhood events coordinator and community liaison with the Round Rock Police Department. She is no stranger to Meridian as she has been a very active and dedicated parent since 2011. She has put in countless hours volunteering, with her first experience being with Triple A in August 2011. Since September 2011 she has been opening morning car doors with enthusiasm and a smile. By interacting with staff members, parents and many students on a daily basis, her passion for the vision and direction of Meridian has grown tremendously. In her spare time, she enjoys vacationing with her family, cooking, baking, reading, listening to music and playing piano.
Mrs. Soni – Enrichment Coordinator
Geetanjali Soni joined Meridian in fall 2011 as the enrichment leader for first grade. She continued on in successive years as the second and third grade leader. After working as the Senior Enrichment Leader, Mrs. Soni was promoted to Enrichment Coordinator position. As the enrichment coordinator, she plans and supervises enriching activities and events for the entire program. In 2016 she was promoted to the assistant manager as well as overseeing enrichment curriculum. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University, India, Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University, and a Texas Teacher’s Certification for early childhood through fourth grade and ESL. She has over 20 years of teaching experience. She has worked as a tutor, mentor, aerobics instructor, and cosmetologist consultant. She currently teaches yoga, beginner chess, creative art classes, and substitutes in Round Rock ISD. Mrs. Soni was the co-manager and appraiser of a Destination Imagination team in 2015-16. She enjoys cooking, crafts, shopping, photography, and family time. "Meridian’s after school program helps me to explore my own interests, hobbies, and ideas. I love the after school environment and encouraging staff that I work with. In summer of 2017, she had the opportunity to oversee the Badger dog Writing Camp hosted at Meridian School. Her philosophy for the after school program is Supervision, Safety and Structure.
Ms. Soto – Triple A Registrar and Receptionist
Jackie Soto joined Meridian in fall 2014 as the Triple A Enrichment Program Receptionist and became the Triple A Enrichment Program Registrar in the spring of 2015. She attended Austin Everest Institute and graduated as a Medical Assistant in 2012. As a student at Everest Institute, she received hands - on training with patient care and communication; she is also well trained in both administrative and clinical procedures. Some of Ms. Soto’s interests include reading, learning new things, exercising, watching her favorite TV shows, and spending time with family. “In an orchestra, a diverse collection of instruments, each with its own unique sound, work together to produce a beautiful symphony. I’m excited to be a part of this team because we are all so unique each ‘with our own sound’ and it’s amazing to be part of such a diverse and collaborative environment.”
Ms. Williams – Support Staff
Alliyah Williams joined Meridian in August 2016 as a group leader. She later accepted the role of the After School Support Staff in the spring of 2017. As the Support Staff she takes on the responsibility of being the on-call help to any after school staff member. While she was in high school she was very active in numerous clubs, some of which she started herself. However, her favorite club, peer coaching, allowed her to be a tutor and a mentor to both peers and elementary students. She enjoys reading, writing poetry and books, creating and acting in plays, along with learning many different art styles. "Meridian has given me such a huge opportunity to help students discover new things through many different artistic ways. Everyday these wonderful students teach me something new about art and life; all of this keeps me coming back to this amazing school."
Ms. Lamb – Floater
Stevie Lamb joined Meridian in September of 2017 in the role of Floater for the Triple A After School Enrichment Program. Ms. Lamb is currently continuing her education at Austin Community College where she is majoring in education and history, and minoring in American Sign Language. In her free time she enjoys reading and listening to music. She loves working with children of all ages and is excited for the 2017-18 school year!
Ms. Lewis - Group K1 Leader
J'Neshiya Lewis joined Meridian in October 2016 as the group leader for fifth grade. She has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and was a substitute for two years at AISD. She enjoys helping children learn and making learning fun for children and she is very excited about 2017-18 school year with, her after school Kindergarteners.
Mr. Garcia - Group K2 Leader
Jose Garcia joined Meriden School in August 2017 as a Kindergarten group leader. He graduated at a career college in Los Angeles as a Medical Assistant in 2010. He has experience working with large groups of students (both young and old) and extensive knowledge of tools (both electric and hands on). He is also bilingual in Spanish. He enjoys traveling and learning new things everyday. Mr. Garcia’s favorite hobbies are fishing, playing basketball and cycling. Most importantly he makes time for those he loves.
Mrs. Davis – Group 1A Leader
Kathy Davis joined Meridain School in August 2017. She has several years of experience working as a Pre-K assistant. She also helped children between the ages of 3 and 5 develop and master basic computer skills. She has a love for animals. She enjoys reading, running and traveling.
Ms. Gaddis - Group 1B Leader
Stacy Gaddis joined Meridian in September 2017 as a group leader for first grade. She spent several years working with pre-k. Her favorite part of working with kids is seeing the world through their eyes. In her spare time, she loves making things with clay, crafting, reading, and spending time with her family and pets.
Ms. Clack – Group 2A Leader
Kathryn (Kathy) Clack joined Meridian in August 2017. She received her Medication Aide License from Austin Community College where she worked in the nursing field for nearly 15 years. She has worked several years in a private in home daycare. She later went into the field of corrections for a little more than 6 years where she was trained and certified as a corrections officer/ Supervisor. She enjoys reading, listening to music, watching old movies, gardening, cooking, cleaning, star gazing, spending time with family and raising her grandchildren. "I am very grateful and appreciative of the opportunity that I have been given from Meridian. There is no greater pleasure in life than being able to teach the minds and lives of young children -as well as being taught and seeing through the eyes of young children. Knowing that you can help shape and reach one child for the better is an accomplishment all on its own."
Ms. Camarillo – Group 2B Leader
Yvonne Camarillo joined Meridian in August of 2017. She is certified in Management/Leadership. She also holds certificates in Capturing Kids Hearts and Making The PYP Happen In the Classroom. She attended Austin Community College and South University. Mrs. Camarillo has more than 15 years of management experience where she was the GM/Co-Owner in a well renowned restaurant in Corpus Christi Tx before transitioning over into the classroom. She has more than 3 years experience working with children. She worked for RRISD's Special Education Department where she has said "her students changed her life for the best" On her off days she enjoys writing, designing make-up with her daughter and visiting with both her sons that have moved out to attend college.
Ms. Russell – Group 3A Leader
Jalyssa Russell joined Meridian in 2015 as a group leader. She has been a leader for 2nd Grade and 3rd Grade. She is passionate about working with kids and hopes to one day be a social worker. In her spare time, she enjoys writing and television.
Mr. Bilhartz – Group 3B Leader
Greg Bilhartz joined Meridian in Fall 2017 as the group leader for third grade. He recently decided to give back to the community and teach when his daughter told him, “You know more than my history teacher; you should teach!” Mr. Bilhartz holds bachelor’s degrees in International Business and German from the University of Texas at Austin, and a master’s degree in West European Studies from Indiana University. He is a retired Army officer, where he served in Armor units and as a Foreign Area Officer, and is a veteran of Desert Shield/Desert Storm and the Kosovo campaign. After leaving the Army, Mr. Bilhartz worked in the defense manufacturing and railroad services industries, and remains a consultant in international business development services. He is fluent in French and German, conversational in Spanish, and has a working knowledge of several other languages. Mr. Bilhartz has travelled extensively throughout the world and has lived more than ten years overseas, including England, Germany, and Saudi Arabia, and served embassy tours in France and Bulgaria. He is active in his children’s participation in club volleyball and Boy Scouts. Mr. Bilhartz is an avid road cyclist, plays French horn, and also enjoys classical music, gourmet cooking, camping, astronomy and skiing.
Mr. Henne - Group Leader 4A
Neil Henne joined Meridian in August 2017 as a Group Leader for the 4th grade. He graduated from Michigan State University where he majored in Political Science and Russian and went on to receive a Doctorate in Jurisprudence from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan. He enjoys reading, movies, and joining his wife in entertaining their 3 cats. He is currently studying for his teacher certification and looks forward to being a positive influence on young minds.
Ms. Smith – Group Leader 4B
Nicole Smith joined Meridian the fall of 2017 as a group leader. She currently attends Austin Community College and plans to transfer to the University of Texas within the next few years pursuing Music Education and Business Management. She enjoys photography, music, reading, and wandering around libraries. She hopes to inspire the children here at Meridian to dream big and to never give up on a dream just because it seems too outlandish.
Ms. K – Group Leader 5A
Kalimah Williams joined Meridian in May 2017 as group leader. Raised in a small town, Ms. K took an interest in creating. Some of her creative hobbies include: singing, writing comics, drawing, sewing, and playing instruments as well as song writing. Ms. K is currently striving to pursue her dreams in entertainment and activism. "I've never believed in abandoning my inner child which is why I love them so much. True wealth lies within your character."
Ms. Rose – Group Leader 5B
Soledad Rose joined Meridian in August 2017 as a group leader for fifth grade. Ms. Rose moved from California to Texas when she was in the tenth grade and graduated from Hutto high in 2017. She currently attends South University to pursue Physical Therapy and hopes to continue this path once graduating with an associate’s degree. Ms. Rose is a very caring, loving and out going person. She enjoys camping, fishing, watching movies and sometimes just staying home taking care of her dogs. She loves to learn new things everyday and teach others as well and hopes to make a change in lives.
