Corey Franklin
Corey Franklin joined Meridian in August 2022 as a third grade teacher. Mr. Corey has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from The University of the Incarnate Word and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Regents American University of London. Throughout his life he has always loved traveling and has traveled to over thirty different countries. Mr. Corey worked in China for seven years and moved back to the United States with his cat Chairman Miao in July 2022. While in China, he worked as an English as an additional language teacher, music teacher, and as PYP Coordinator. He has experience teaching students in all grades, but enjoys working with primary students most. Mr. Corey has completed three IB PYP training courses: category one Making the PYP Happen, category two Evidencing Learning, and category three The Role of the Coordinator. He also successfully lead a new school through the IB PYP authorization in 2022. Mr. Corey is a certified elementary teacher for grades one through six with a TESOL Endorsement. He also has Qualified Teacher Status in the United Kingdom and has been certified to teach English through the Cambridge University Teaching Knowledge Test: Young Learners, Module one, and Module two. Mr. Corey enjoys music, reading, and learning. He can speak Chinese and is learning Spanish. He was drawn to Meridian because of it’s philosophy as an IB World School.
