Joseph Griesel

Joseph Griesel joined Meridian formally in 2023 as a MYP and DP Chemistry teacher, but apprentice taught in Ms. Zoe Rothenberger's class during the 2022 school year through the UTeach program. He is an Austin native and graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering in 2019.
 
Prior to teaching, he worked for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and in several chemical engineering research labs. In his off time Mr. Griesel enjoys cooking, playing old tabletop and video games, walking his dogs, and spending time with his family.
 
He is quite excited to be back at Meridian and hopes to only light the occasional student on fire in Chemistry labs.
