Tryouts - For the 2024 Competitive Season

Wednesday, 12/6

2:30 - 4:00 p.m. = High School (Boys and Girls Varsity Tennis Tryouts)

3:30 - 5:00 p.m. = Middle School (7th & 8th grades; all genders)

Where

Cimarron Hills Tennis Center (200 E Cimarron Hills Trail, Georgetown, TX 78628)

Pre-requisites

Must be registered for 2024 Competitive Spring Tennis and physically eligible to try out.

What to bring/wear

Wear athletic attire and athletic shoes and bring your tennis racket and a water bottle to tryouts.

How to prepare

What to expect during tryouts

Each tennis player will be assigned a tryout number. Results will be posted online the following evening by tryout number. Tennis players must remember their tryout number to learn if they made a team or not.
8th grade students could be considered to play up to the Varsity level; however they will try out with the middle school group.
Coaches will be evaluating the following during tryouts:
- Skills:
  - Forehands Cross Court and Down the Line (past the service line)
  - Backhands Cross Court and Down the Line (past the service line)
  - Forehand Volleys (in the area known as No Man’s Land)
  - Backhand Volleys (in the area known as No Man’s Land)
  - Overheads (anywhere in the tennis court)
  - Serves (from either Deuce or Ad, must be in correct service box)
- Sportsmanship: effort, teamwork, attitude
Tryouts are closed to parents/guardians and spectators.

Tryout results will be posted on this webpage on Thursday, 12/7 between 5 - 10 p.m.
