Meridian School celebrates International Week, February 24 – March 3

International Week is a little more than a month away! It includes three much-loved events at Meridian:

  • Our World Parade for students
  • The Festival of Cultures for families
  • Friends of Meridian’s International Wine & Beer Festival

Students will also enjoy additional international-themed activities throughout the time in school; although an international mindset is already intertwined in lesson plans throughout the year!

We celebrate the cultures that our families, students, and staff bring to Meridian enriching our community from the United States to countries around the globe.

We'd love to have you join in the celebration!

International Door Decorating

Sunday, February 19, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m./noon

Volunteers in Partnership invites you to come decorate a door for our students and teachers as part of our International Week. There are doors in Primary, Middle and High School that are available to be decorated. We hope this will be a nice surprise for our teachers and staff to kick off the festivities! Please sign up to choose your door.

World Parade

Friday, February 24

This is one of our favorite events each year. We invite all students to participate in our World Parade by dressing in fashion representative of their heritage.

Sign up before February 10 if your student is participating in the parade.

If your flag is not on the list, please email Lynda Chapel by January 27  so that we can order it.

Students not marching in the parade will be spectators. Take a look at last year's parade to see this amazing event in action.

Festival of Cultures

Saturday, February 24, starting at 10 a.m.

The Festival of Cultures  is a way in which we share, learn, experience, and celebrate the different cultures and diversity within our community.  In years past, families hosted booths representing their culture for our school community to visit.

We invite our families to host a booth to showcase your culture and share with the rest of our community. Please sign up if you would like to host a booth.

There are also many ways for your student to be involved. If your student is interested in any of the following for their grade level please complete the google forms below.

Primary Musical Performances (K – 5)

Secondary Talent Show (6 – 12)

Secondary Club or Student Group Booths (6 – 12)

Black Culture Choir performance (1 – 12)

Don’t want to host a booth but you still want to be involved, sign up to volunteer to help make this event a success.

Friday, March 3, 6:30 p.m.

Friends of Meridian hosts its Annual Wine & Beer Festival and Silent Auction March 3. Look for ticket pricing and event details soon.
