In 12 years, Jennifer Noonan has volunteered more than 800 hours of dedicated service and helped raise more than $41,000.
Noonan, whose children enrolled at Meridian in 2013 as a kindergartner and 2nd grader, single handedly developed an annual clothing swap into our thriving Uniform Exchange. The program averages 2,500 pieces sold annually to families and raises on average close to $5,000 per year to help teachers enrich their classrooms and learning opportunities, from books to flexible seating to band and orchestra equipment to art supplies and tools.
The impact goes beyond an affordable way for families to buy uniforms for their students. The Uniform Exchange is open a few times per year to all families, but the closet is always available for free to families in need, as well as to students needing a change of clothes during the day.
The uniform exchange continues to grow, having expanded in the past two years to include staff spirit wear and college shirts, and it will thrive under new leadership once Noonan's youngest graduates this year.
Congratulations, Jennifer!
