Laura Toczko

Laura Toczko joined the Meridian faculty in 2020 as a kindergarten teacher. In 2023, she transitioned with her class to first grade. She graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and later earned a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Central Oklahoma. Mrs. Toczko is certified to teach Pre-K through sixth grade and is also qualified to teach English as a Second Language (ESL).

 

Although she was born and raised in Phoenix, Mrs. Toczko has taught kindergarten, first, and second grades in both Oklahoma and Texas. She enjoys teaching phonics and reading through chants and movement, while also focusing on instilling lifelong social skills in her students. She is passionate about her faith, her family, and building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

 

Mrs. Toczko and her husband have two adult children, a daughter and a son. She was drawn to Meridian because it closely aligns with her educational philosophy, which emphasizes teaching the whole child.
