Kerry Werner

Karen Werner joined Meridian in July 2024. She earned a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at El Paso, with majors in Social Studies and English.

Karen brings more than two decades of teaching experience in both public and private education. She began her career teaching fourth grade in Fabens ISD, where she also served as the District Elementary Science Coordinator. Most recently, she spent eleven years teaching at a private school in El Paso. Throughout her career, Karen has taught third, fourth, and fifth grades, as well as seventh- and eighth-grade English. She is currently in her 24th year as an educator.

Outside the classroom, Karen enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her husband, family, and pets.
