Rachel Gabriel

Rachel Gabriel joined Meridian in 2025 as PYP Assistant Principal. She began her career in 2015 working in public schools where she served as a mentor, instructional leader, and transition specialist for students with complex medical, behavioral, and communication needs. Ms. Gabriel holds a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Master of Education in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Missouri, as well as a certification in Administration and Educational Leadership from Texas State University.
 
She has received extensive professional development in inclusive education, behavior support, and communication systems, and has presented at the campus and regional levels. Her teaching philosophy is grounded in presumed competence, equity, and the belief that all students thrive when given access, agency, and support. She values collaboration, community partnerships, and cultivating a campus culture where students and staff feel a strong sense of belonging.
 
Rachel is excited to support the school’s mission of developing internationally minded learners. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling, attending concerts, exploring Austin’s food scene, and spending time with her rescue pup, Auggie.
