Wyatt Verleye
Wyatt Verleye joined the Meridian community in 2025 as the Middle Years Programme Assistant Principal. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in History from Texas State University in 2021 and completed his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at the University of North Texas in 2025. He holds Texas certifications in Social Studies, Grades 7–12, and Principal as Instructional Leader, EC–12.
Before stepping into school leadership, Mr. Verleye taught World Geography and Economics, later moving into Advanced Placement courses in World History and European History. He also served as a mentor to new teachers on his previous campus and was honored as the Student Favorite Teacher of the Year during the 2022–2023 school year. He believes in the power of high expectations, supportive relationships, and meaningful feedback to help both students and teachers grow.
Originally from Texas, Wyatt is a lifelong Detroit Red Wings fan, a proud dog dad, and an advocate for wellness and balance in education. He enjoys reading, weightlifting, and exploring new places with family and friends.
