Campus Reorganization

As you have likely seen, our campuses will be organized from an administrative perspective to align more with the International Baccalaureate programs (Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme, and Diploma Programme).

Students still fall into our traditional primary, middle, and high school campuses, but principals and assistant principals will align according to the following grade levels: K-5, 6-10, and 11-12.

More details will follow; for now, we share how the International Baccalaureate Organization defines each program.

Primary Years Programme (PYP) – Grades K-5

Principal: Melissa ReesePYP
Assistant Principal 1,3,5: Brooke Knight
Assistant Principal K,2,4: Donida Garcia
IB Coordinator: Leah Lieurance

The PYP is a student-centered approach to education, developing caring and culturally-aware children and encouraging them to take ownership of their learning through inquiry and reflection.

Middle Years Programme (MYP) – Grades 6-10

Principal: Crystal LaneMYP
Assistant Principal 6-7: Matthew Castaneda
Assistant Principal 8-10: Shachon Leaf
IB Coordinator: Kristen (Mac) Machczynski

The MYP develops students' confidence in managing their learning. Students make connections with their learning between subjects, as teachers emphasize concepts across disciplines. This sets the stage for students to make connections between lessons and the real world.

As with the other programmes, it is inclusive by design; students of all interests and abilities can benefit.

Diploma Programme (DP) – Grades 11-12

DP
Principal: Stela Holcombe
Assistant Principal 11-12: Wendy Riley
IB Coordinator: to be announced

The DP further builds students' inquiring mindset, fosters their desire to learn, and prepares them to excel at their careers and lead meaningful lives. All students at Meridian participate in IB classes. Many sit for one or more IB exams, which can often help them earn college credit.
