You will follow your student's schedule, spending seven minutes in each classroom and hearing a presentation from each teacher. There is no "class" for study halls or advisory.
Students are invited to attend with their parent/guardian (to help them find their classes). This is not a "come and go" event. The first period begins right at 5:35; we recommend arriving by 5:15 to park and get to the classroom in time.

What is it?
At Open House, you will get a glimpse of your student's daily life at Meridian. You will walk your student's schedule periods 1 through 8—attending each class for 7 minutes where you will hear a short presentation from each teacher. Wear comfortable walking shoes as you will be going back and forth between the high school building and the Mays building (if your student has classes in both buildings).
Pro-Tips for a Successful Open House Experience!
- Before you come to Open House, log into Skyward and take a picture of your student's schedule with your phone.
- Don't have your student's schedule? Pick up a hard copy of the schedule in the middle school lobby (grades 6-8) or the high school office (grades 9-12) before the event. There will likely be a line, so plan to arrive early so you can get to 1st period on time.
- Study your student's schedule in advance.
- Room numbers that begin with “H” are located at the high school.
- Room numbers that begin with “M” are located in the Mays (middle school) building.
- The first number is the floor.
- For example, “M110” is on the first floor of the middle school building, and “H209” is on the second floor of the high school building.
- Do not attend your student's "Study Hall" and "Advisory" classes; there are no presentations for these classes.
- Students are welcome to attend open house with their parent/guardian if they would like to help guide their parents from class to class.
- Due to the tight schedule, Open House is not a time to have one-on-one conversations with your student's teachers. Each classroom will have a sign up sheet for those who would like to schedule a conference.
- Regarding Parking: If you are starting in the middle school building, you will want to park in the main, central parking lot. If you are starting in the high school building, you can try to find a spot in the high school lot, but those spaces are limited.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at Open House!
