Led by third grade teachers Molly Chapman and Corey Franklin, the troupe partners with Amy Crowl and secondary students to bring productions to life. Theatre Tech students designed and built imaginative backdrops and sets, while others directed, ran lights, and managed sound during performances. This semester, Casper Mansion was written by Ms. Chapman herself, ensuring each of the 30 cast members had a speaking role.
This season also introduced a student director, Tess Chapman, who helped lead the cast, support rehearsals, and even gave the curtain speeches before each show, modeling leadership for younger students.
What truly makes the troupe shine is how it brings families, faculty, and students across grade levels together. Parents and guardians supported tech week with meals, makeup, and costumes, while staff and secondary students mentored younger performers, giving them not only a stage but also role models to look up to. Last semester, parents even helped build the stage itself.
Through these collaborations, the Lion’s Acting Troupe shows how the arts don’t just entertain, they weave our community closer together, celebrate creativity, and remind us of our shared Lion Pride.
