College Testing
College Admission Tests: SAT & ACT
Colleges recognize the SAT and/or ACT in the admissions process. Some colleges require at least one test from applicants, while other schools have "test optional" policies and let students choose whether or not to submit test scores. It's important to look at the requirements at each college to keep up with their policies, as these may change from year to year.
These tests are offered at national test centers on Saturdays, and students must register individually for each exam. Complete details can be found on the testing websites:

Testing Offered at Meridian
The PSAT-NMSQT exam is administered in the fall to sophomores & juniors. The ACT exam is administered to juniors in the spring. Both exams are administered during the school day. The school registers and administers the tests to eligible students for free.
The TSIA2 Exam is available to junior or senior students who have not met reading or math exemption scores on the ACT or SAT exam. The test will help the colleges and universities determine if the student is ready for college-level work. If the student has not met college readiness benchmarks, the college or university will help plan interventions and strategies for student success. Students may also need to take the TSIA2 if they’re taking dual-credit courses at ACC and have not yet taken an ACT or SAT exam.
Note: Acceptance to a college or university is NOT contingent on meeting college-readiness standards. This is used to determine readiness for individual course placement.
The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is offered for free to interested 10th - 12th grade students. The ASVAB provides tools to help students learn more about career exploration & planning in both civilian and military worlds of work.
