Leila Khoram-Work
Leila Khoram-Work joined Meridian School in August 2011 and has since become a long-standing member of the faculty. Born in Tehran, Iran, and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Leila brings a rich cultural background and a global perspective to her teaching. She earned her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Public Administration at Northeastern University in Boston.
After relocating to Texas, Leila pursued her teaching certification through Texas State University and is certified to teach pre-kindergarten through 8th grade, including special education. Her passion lies in working with intermediate-grade students, where she fosters curiosity and independence through inquiry-based learning.
Leila’s journey with Meridian began even before the school opened, as a member of the Circle of Founding Families. Her deep interest in the International Baccalaureate philosophy, especially its emphasis on inquiry and global-mindedness, continues to shape her approach in the classroom. She has completed both Category I and advanced IB PYP trainings. Leila is also certified to lead IB PYP workshops, where she facilitates professional development for fellow educators. As such, she is committed to lifelong learning and growth alongside her students.
Leila is married to Jim and they have three grown children, all of whom attended Meridian for part or all of their education.
