Leigh Trusler joined Meridian in August 2011 as a third grade teacher and a member of the school's first faculty. After two years in third, Leigh wanted an opportunity to experience a different grade level and joined the fifth grade team.   She is a native Texan, growing up in Galveston and graduating from Southwestern University in Georgetown with a degree in child study and language development. Leigh is certified in elementary education and gifted and talented instruction. She has taught for several years and her experience includes kindergarten, first, third and fourth grades while working in Clear Creek, Northside, and Georgetown ISDs. She also enjoyed an opportunity to teach third grade at the American Community School in London. She joined Meridian from Round Rock ISD, where she was a third grade teacher.  Leigh considers herself a life-long learner and loves challenges, which is essentially what drew her to Meridian – to be part of a new and dynamic school with an IB program that she was eager to experience and learn about. She has completed Category 1 and advanced IB-PYP training.
