Hi! I’m Zoe Rothenberger. I’ve been teaching at Meridian since January of 2018. I grew up in Manor, TX and was a graduate of Manor New Technology High School where I learned entirely project based instruction, much like students at Meridian in the Middle Years Programme learn through well-planned units. I graduated from the University of Texas (Hook ‘Em) in December of 2017 with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics. I am also a graduate of the UTeach program, one of the nation's leading teaching preparation programs. The UTeach program prepared me to be an IB educator by giving me the tools to teach students through inquiry, to create communicators and balanced thinkers, to encourage students to be more open-minded and risk-taking, and to encourage being reflective and showing care to all. In July of 2018, I completed Middle Years Programme Category 2 training for mathematics educators & I look forward to implementing the things I learned in that training in the classroom. I am excited to teach Geometry this year because students get to investigate one of my favorite concepts, the Spiral of Theodorus which can be used to informally prove that the square-root of any prime number exists and can be constructed!

Outside of school, I enjoy spending quality time at home with my significant other and our two cats, Lola and Lucy, playing board games and watch quality television shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I also enjoy cooking, listening to podcasts, and being crafty.
