Classroom Visits:
Students in grades Kindergarten through 3rd grade visit the library weekly to check out books. They are encouraged to select one good fit book and one-two books of their choice (see checkout policies below). 4th and 5th grade students visit the library on a bi-weekly basis and participate in technology and research lessons on the alternate weeks.

Checkout Policies:
Students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade are allowed to check out two books, while students in 3rd through 5th grade may check out 3 books. Kindergarten students will keep their books in their classroom, and all other students will be allowed to take their books home. They will have to return these books in order to check out new books. Books will be due two weeks from the date of checkout. Students who have books that are long overdue will not be allowed to check out any books from the library until the book is returned or paid for. Lost or damaged items must be paid for or replaced in hardcover form.

Book Donations:
We are continuing to grow our library and appreciate all donations. In the library, we accept hardback books in good condition. Paperback books will be donated to classroom teachers for use in classroom libraries.

Volunteering in the Library:
We are so appreciative of all of our parent volunteers. They help check out books to students, help students find books, and occasionally read to the students. We use parent volunteers to help with Kindergarten through 2nd grade class visits. All parents who are volunteering in the library are required to go through a library volunteer orientation prior to volunteering. Contact Ms. Delafield to set up an orientation.
