About the Unit:
This unit aims to introduce students to the different types of voice: Inner, Whisper, Talk, Shout, and Sing including male/female. Students will explore how the different voices we use can impact others. Further development in understanding and identifying musical elements will be nurtured through a variety of tasks. This will forge links with the attributes of humans and aspects of how we are similar and different.
During this unit, the students will learn to recognize and identify the similarities and differences in the types of voice. Students will demonstrate and identify different voices: speaking, singing, whispering, shouting, and voice exploration. They will listen to and analyze pieces of music as well as develop their own singing voice. They will experiment with the range of pitch that their own voices can make.
