Getting to and from Campus
Since Meridian World School welcomes families from across Williamson County, our 1,700 students arrive and depart via vehicle. Help make our carline run smoothly by taking a moment to review maps and procedures.
The first week, carline will take longer as families acclimate, especially during the morning. We encourage secondary families to arrive after 8 a.m. to allow for heavy traffic to subside.
Please note: On the first day of school, PYP students (K-5) may be walked to their classroom if you choose. On the second day, Kindergarten students may be walked to the Kindergarten entrance. Please only park in an unmarked spot or along the grass. There is very limited parking.
Carline
Help make your first few days of carline run smoothly – review our carline maps to see which lane to take for your child’s grade! We have updated the maps to make it easier to see where to enter the lane you need. Share these maps with anyone picking up your child.
Pikmykid
New: To be Used for All Students Grades K-12
Beginning this school year, all grades K-12 pick up students in carline using the Pikmykid app. The app has helped create a smooth and fast dismissal carline for primary since 2020, and we look forward to bringing it back campus-wide.
Set up is quick and easy
- Download the Pikmykid app and learn how to use it in this Parent App Guide.
- Do you prefer video instruction? View video tutorials.
Your students automatically load
Meridian will load students to the app by July 30. We connect your students using parent/guardian cell phones entered into Skyward. After July 30, if you do not see your students when you log in, please email [email protected] and include your cell phone number, child's name, and grade and we can help you out.
What is Pikmykid?
Pikmykid allows you to change pickups as needed (for example moving to regular carline instead of Triple A for the day), as well as add delegates (other drivers who will pick up your child). Meridian does not use the morning check-in feature. The app is solely used during dismissal.
Pro Tip
Always keep your car tags easy to view during carline. This speeds up the process and gets you through faster!
Questions? Come see us at Back to School Nights in person, or email Transportation!
How to “Announce” your arrival in the app
Please "announce" your arrival for your student once you are in the afternoon carline. This saves our staff an extra step during dismissal. “Announce” as soon as it is safe to do so once you have pulled to a stop on campus, or near the Pikmykid stop signs.
- Open app and press "Pickup" on bottom tab
- Press green "Announce" button on new screen
If you're a delegate, the children you're picking up will show on the same screen.
After School Options
If you cannot pick up your child immediately after school ends during carline, make sure you’ve signed up for one of our after school options:
- Waiters: This option is for primary students with secondary siblings. You can pick up all students together during the secondary carline. Sign up today.
- Triple A (Grades K-5): After School care until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday
- Triple A Early Release Wednesday (Grades K-5): After School care until 4 p.m. Wednesdays only
- After School 6-12: A space to wait for pick up in the Mays Cafeteria until 5:45 p.m. (Also choose this option if your students regularly take tutorials or stay for sports, clubs, or organization meetings and will need a place to wait before/after).
Four or more K-5 students? Apply now for Primary Fast Lane
Apply for Primary (K-5) Afternoon Fast Lane before Aug. 5. Vehicles picking up four or more students in the afternoons may apply for Fast Lane, which lines up on Meridian Lane off of the service road. If awarded a spot, you will receive a notification from [email protected].
There's no morning fast lane, but we recommend using Green Lane, which is more lightly used. Learn more about Carline.
Dismissal Changes?
Sometimes, plans change. Here’s what to do if your dismissal mode changes for the day:
K-12 Carline Delegations
- Make the transportation change in Pikmykid before 2:30 p.m (1 p.m. W). You are welcome to email your child’s teacher to let them know as well.
Waiters
- If your secondary student will not be in carline for any reason, your primary student should be dismissed during the primary carline instead. Make the transportation change in Pikmykid before 2:30 p.m (1 p.m. W). You are welcome to email your child’s teacher to let them know as well.
- Students: if you have a day-of change, please go to the office to call parents/guardians before the end of advisory so that Pikmykid can be updated.
Triple A
- If you need to pick up your student in primary carline for the day, make the change in Pikmykid. You are welcome to email their teacher about the change as well.
- Pikmykid does not support delegates for After School pickup. If an individual other than a guardian needs to pick up a student from Triple A, the guardian must email [email protected] with the delegate’s name and the dates they will pick up the student. Tell the delegate to arrive with a valid government ID and, if possible, the student's car tag, and wait outside of the Primary entrance doors.
After School 6-12
- If you need to pick up your student in secondary carline for the day, make the change in Pikmykid.
- Pikmykid does not support delegates for After School pickup. If you need to delegate for After School 6-12 pickup, the app will not support delegations for After School. Delegates will have to come to Mays Café patio doors and present a Meridian car tag. If they do not have a car tag, please email Lisa Powers by 3 p.m. that day with the delegate's name. Your delegate will need to come to the Mays Café patio doors and show us their ID.
