Labor Day Classic Volleyball Tournament - 2026
What: Meridian's 10th Labor Day Classic Volleyball Tournament
When: Friday, September 4 (Girls Varsity, Boys Varsity, & Girls JV Pool Play)
& Saturday, September 5 (Girls Varsity, Boys Varsity, & Girls JV Bracket Play + Girls Girls MS Pool and Bracket Play)
Where: Round Rock Sports Center (2400 Chisholm Trail Rd, Round Rock, TX 78681)
Family and Fan Admissions (Students & Adults):
2-day pass = $25
1-day pass = $15
Children under 5 = Free
Cash, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa accepted at the door. (Amex not accepted.)
Participating teams will receive 3 wristbands free with each Team Entry Fee. Team Wristbands should be utilized for coaches, student managers, school administrators, and or athletic directors only.
Note to Meridian Volleyball families: The Meridian Family Volleyball Pass does not apply to tournaments.
- A hospitality room will be provided for coaches and officials only.
- A concession stand through Round Rock Sports Centers will be available upstairs and is completely cashless.
- No outside food or drink is allowed in the facility.
- Teams are welcome to set up tables and or tent outside on the southside grass/turf areas.
Parking:
Free at Round Rock Sports Center
Facility Expectations:
- Teams are welcome to set-up a tent outside clear of any parking and walking areas.
- No outside food or drink allowed.
- Spectators should remain upstairs in the viewing areas.
- Coaches and Players only are allowed at court level.
Tournament Onsite Check In:
Teams will be asked to check-in at the admissions counter before your team’s first match. Coaches will be given a packet with tournament information and 3 staff wristbands.
Warmup Structure and Balls:
Volleyballs will be provided for warmup on all courts.
All matches will have a R1 and R2 provided. Each Teams listed as the “work team” will provide 2-line judges, 1-scorer (bookkeeper), 1 flip scorer, 1 iPad scorer, and 1 libero tracker. Referee assignments can be completed by parents or players from the listed work team.
Awards (All Divisions):
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd place player and coach medals
- 1st place team trophy
- 1st place teams select 1 MVP Award selected by coach
- 1st & 2nd place teams select 2 All-Tournament Team awards selected by coach

Preorders ended on August 13. A limited number of shirts will be available for sale at the tournament.
This shirt is approved Meridian spirit wear. Students and staff can wear it to school on Fridays.
Note to Meridian Volleyball players: A Labor Day Classic T-shirt is not included with your participation fee. A Meridian Volleyball spirit wear shirt is included with your participation fee. If you would like a Labor Day Classic shirt, please pre-order it.
Delivery: Shirts will be delivered to Meridian families via their students at school by Thursday, September 3. All other orders will be available to pick up at the tournament.

Event Highlights:
- 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals (for all divisions reaching at least 8 teams)

Divisions and Teams:
- Girls Middle School A (6th-8th grades) - 8 teams
- Girls Middle School B (6th-8th grades) - 8 teams
- Girls JV - A (9th-12th grades) - 8 teams
- Girls JV - B (9th-12th grades) - 8 teams
- Girls Varsity (9th-12th grades) - 16 teams
- Boys Varsity (8th-12th grades) - 12 teams
Format:
- Pool Play & Bracket Play
- Girls Middle School will play all matches on Saturday.
- Girls Varsity. Boys Varsity, and Girls JV will play pool play on Friday and bracket play on Saturday.
Game Guarantee:
- Girls Middle School = 3 total (all games on Saturday)
- Girls JV = 5 total (Friday and Saturday)
- Boys Varsity = 5 total (Friday and Saturday)
- Girls Varsity = 5 total (Friday and Saturday)
Open to:
- Public charter schools
- Private schools
- 1A, 2A, 3A public schools
- Home school groups

Team Registration Deadline:
August 14, 2026
Team Cancellation Policies:
- No refunds after August 14, 2026.
- Teams that cancel between August 1 and August 14 will receive partial (50% refund).
- Teams that cancel before August 1 will receive a full refund.
Entry Fee Payment:
Pay when you register with a credit card. If necessary, schools can pay by check by May 31. Contact the Tournament Coordinator, Nicole Krieg, to coordinate payment by check.
