Overview

Competitive Girls Volleyball is open to rising 7th-12th grade students and is expected to form four teams: Varsity, JV, and two Middle School teams. Our Girls Varsity team is 2022 and 2023 State Runner-Up! Participation in tryouts is required to be considered for a team, and cuts are expected.

 

Competitive Boys Volleyball is open to rising 8th-12th grade students and is expected to form a Varsity team. Meridian Volleyball is extremely competitive. Our Boys Varsity team is 2021, 2022, and 2023 State Champions!

M, 5/1 - Registration ($52.30) opens for 2024 season

W, 5/8 at 9:00 p.m. - Registration ($52.30) ends for the 2024 season. 

W, 7/24 - Late registration ($104.60) opens.

W, 7/31 - Late registration ($104.60) ends at 9 p.m. 

Th., 8/1 - Physical forms due for tryouts. Learn more.

W, 8/7 - Middle School Girls Tryouts Part 1 (Skills Assessment) and Girls High School Tryouts. See 2024 Tryouts.

Th, 8/8 - Middle School Girls Part 2 (Team Tryouts) and Boys Varsity. See 2024 Tryouts.

Th, 8/8 - Tryout Results posted by tryout number on the 2024 Tryouts webpage by 9:30 p.m..

F., 8/9 - Participation fee invoices issued through MySchoolBucks

M, 8/12 - Participation fees due by noon

M, 8/12 - Practices start this week

M, 8/26 - League games start

F, 8/30 - Meridian Labor Day Classic Volleyball Tournament: Girls Varsity & Boys Varsity Pool Play. (No school)

Sat., 8/31 - Meridian Labor Day Classic Volleyball Tournament: All teams

F, 9/6 & Sat, 9/7 - Aggieland Tournament for Girls JV, Girls Varsity, & Boys Varsity. (Travel Tournament - Families should plan on arranging and providing transportation and hotel accommodations for their volleyball player and designate a responsible adult if the parent/guardian is not attending.)

F, 9/27 - Homecoming Games

10/10 - 10/17 - Area playoffs (This is during Meridian’s Fall Break. Games are possible.)

10/18 - 10/19 - Regional Tournament

Sat., 10/26 - State Tournament at Texas State University

Registration

Registration ($52.30) opens Wednesday,  May 1 and ends at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 8. 

Late registration will be available for $104.60 starting on Wednesday, July 24 and ends at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31.  No registrations will be accepted after the late registration window.

 

Lettering & Letter Jackets

Lettering in an extracurricular activity is reserved for the highest level of participation. For Volleyball, this means Varsity Volleyball players. Visit Letter Jackets & Lettering for more information, including the 2023-2024 Lettering Requirements. The 2024-2025 Lettering Requirements will be published in September.
