Policy for Student Pick-Up from After School Clubs

Pick Up Procedures

Important reminder - Families with students in waiters must arrange for pick up of primary-aged siblings in the regular primary carline when the secondary student plans to attend a club or student group meeting.


Middle school students

  • Students who attend after school tutoring must exit through the Mays Café. Families may park in the student parking lot to pick up their students (see map). Students who are not picked up on time will remain in After School 6-12 and fees will be incurred. 
  • Students who attend club/organization meetings will be walked out in a group by their club advisor through the cafe to the student parking lot. The advisor will escort any student not picked up within 3 minutes of the end of the club back into After School 6-12 to sign in.
Notes
  • If the meeting ends after 5:30 p.m., students may not transition to After School 6-12 and the club advisor must wait with their students. Students may not wait outside unsupervised.
  • If a middle school student is attending a meeting with their high school sibling, then they can follow the procedure below: 
 

High school students and their secondary siblings

  • High school students (and their secondary siblings) are permitted to wait for their parents/guardians on the high school patio or on the benches in the Green Lane until their ride arrives to pick them up. Parents/guardians are advised to pick up their students promptly to minimize wait time.
  • For clubs that meet in the Mays building, the high schoolers (and their secondary siblings) may walk over and wait on the high school patio or on the benches in the Green Line. 
Notes
  • If students or parents/guardians prefer to wait in a supervised location, they may go to After School 6-12 in the Mays cafeteria. After School 6-12 ends promptly at 5:45.
 

About After School 6-12

If you will not be picking your student up immediately after their activity, please register them for After School 6-12. After School 6-12 ends at 5:45 p.m. Late fees start to incur at 5:46 p.m. Late fees will be charged even if you are not registered for After School 6-12.
