School Supply Bar Donation Drive
Monday, January 12
Coming up in January, we are transforming our usual VIP Staff Lunch into a vital event: a School Supply Bar!
VIP surveyed our teachers to find out exactly what they want, and we will be collecting the requested items to ensure their classrooms are stocked for the rest of the school year.
When you contribute to the School Supply Bar, you aren't just helping a teacher—your donation is a direct investment in your child's education. When teachers have what they need, they spend more time teaching and less time managing resources, leading to a smoother, richer classroom experience for your student.
We've compiled a sign up with the most requested items, as well as an Amazon Wish List for general guidance.
Many items can be new or gently used, such as games and sport balls, pencil sharpeners, laminators, etc.
Planning for the Festival of Cultures
Saturday, March 7, 2 - 5 p.m.
It’s time to start thinking ahead to International Week, and some of our most beloved school traditions. We close out the week of celebration with the Festival of Cultures March 7. Families are invited to host booths representing the country of their heritage or any country that they would like to learn more about.
During the event, students and their families walk from booth to booth to explore and learn about different countries by talking to hosts, sampling food, playing games or making crafts. We will have student performances and restaurants from the area that specialize in food from different countries. This is an amazing way to showcase our very diverse school community and to celebrate cultures and countries from around the world!
Please join us and check the sign up for details on hosting a country booth or by volunteering at the event.
Secondary Lunch Volunteers
This is a rare opportunity to observe the elusive secondary students in their natural environment, and also a way to free up teachers from these daily lunch duties. Parents are invited to support with managing cafeteria behavior/expectations and ensuring that students clean up their areas before leaving.
Check the sign up to see if you can help out at any of the times.
Help Clean and Organize the High School Lab
Ms. Baker is seeking a few parent volunteers to help with cleaning and organizing the HS physics/chemistry lab. She is hoping this can be done on Wednesdays between 1:30-4:30 p.m., but can make other arrangements. If you are interested, please email ViP.
Thank you for helping keep Meridian a wonderful learning community!
