School Supply Bar Donation Drive
Monday, February 4 (extended)
VIP surveyed our teachers to find out exactly what they want, and we are collecting the requested items to ensure their classrooms are stocked for the rest of the school year.
We've compiled a sign up with the most requested items, as well as an Amazon Wish List for general guidance.
Many items can be new or gently used, such as games and sport balls, pencil sharpeners, laminators, etc.
Club Picture Day Volunteers
Thursday, January 22
A few parent volunteers are needed for club picture day on Thursday, January 22. This is a fun opportunity to see some of the amazing clubs that are offered in the secondary school (clubs and leadership groups for grades 6-12). The volunteer role is to TYPE student names into a document as each group is photographed, so this is ideal for anyone comfortable with lots of typing.
Primary parents are welcome to help even though these photos are mainly for secondary! Sign up to help!
High School Dance
Saturday, January 24, 7-10 p.m.
The High School Dance for grades 9-12, is coming up next weekend, with the theme of "Back to the 80's & 90's.” Please help make the dance a success by signing up to donate food, volunteer, and decorate for the event.
We are looking forward to the event and thank you for your help in making it a success!
Support Meridian’s Model UN Team
Saturday, February 7
Meridian's Model UN club will be participating in the SICMUN conference at Southwestern University in Georgetown next month. They need volunteers to serve as room monitors and photographers (ages 18+) and pages (grade 4 and up).
This is a great way for your student to experience MUN in a fun and low-pressure way! Parents may not observe students in the committee rooms during the conference, unless you are signed up to volunteer and have received a SICMUN lanyard.
Please check out the signup for links to more information in our Volunteer Packet and for the Volunteer Form and Waiver.
Planning for the Festival of Cultures
Saturday, March 7, 2 - 5 p.m.
It’s time to start thinking ahead to International Week, and some of our most beloved school traditions. We close out the week of celebration with the Festival of Cultures March 7. Families are invited to host booths representing the country of their heritage or any country that they would like to learn more about.
During the event, students and their families walk from booth to booth to explore and learn about different countries by talking to hosts, sampling food, playing games or making crafts. We will have student performances and restaurants from the area that specialize in food from different countries. This is an amazing way to showcase our very diverse school community and to celebrate cultures and countries from around the world!
Please join us and check the sign up for details on hosting a country booth or by volunteering at the event.
Secondary Lunch Volunteers
This is a rare opportunity to observe the elusive secondary students in their natural environment, and also a way to free up teachers from these daily lunch duties. Parents are invited to support with managing cafeteria behavior/expectations and ensuring that students clean up their areas before leaving.
Check the sign up to see if you can help out at any of the times.
Thank you for helping keep Meridian a wonderful learning community!
