IB Connections

The IB program is designed to be transdisciplinary enabling the students to see the links between the many different subjects they are taught. 

 

There are six transdisciplinary themes that drive the inquiries that the students make. Each Unit of Inquiry has a central idea (CI) and lines of inquiry that form the roots that connect together. In music I take each Grade's CI and approach it through the lens of music, making transdisciplinary links to many other subjects. In conjunction with the IB philosophy, I aim to make the music curriculum authentic and connected to the real world. By taking a broad approach to learning music, my hope is that the students will find which aspect of music piques their interest and that they continue to engage in music beyond the PYP.
