Fees

Each sports experience has two fees:

  1. Registration Fee 
  2. Participation Fee

The fees for 2023-2024 Dance Team are as follows:


  1. $52.30 Registration Fee ($50 registration + 4.6% MySchoolBucks user fee.) The registration fee is a processing fee and is only refundable if the minimum number of students do not register and this sports offering is canceled or if the student tries out and is not offered a spot on any team. If the student changes their mind, does not establish or maintain eligibility (including due to injury), or leaves Meridian, the registration fee remains non-refundable and non-transferrable. 

 

The Dance Team registration fee includes all candidates: those trying out for Dance Team only and those trying out for Dance Team and Dance Officers. (There is not a second registration fee for Dance Team Officer candidates.) Likewise, there is one registration form for those who are trying out for Dance Team only and those who are trying out for Dance Team and Dance Officers.

 

  1. + Participation Fee:

Dance Team = $675

Dance Officers = $900 ($675 Dance Team Participation Fee + $225 Dance Officer Participation Fee)

  • A payment plan is available for those who request it on their registration form.
    • 5/12 - 1st payment of 25% due
    • 8/1 = 2nd payment of 25% due
    • 10/1 = 3rd payment of 25% due
    • 12/1 = 4th and final payment of 25% due
  • Participation fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable. The entire participation fee is due in full even if a student becomes injured or ill, leaves or is removed from the team, or withdraws from the school.
  • *Add 4.6% MySchoolBucks user fee if paying participation fees via MySchoolBucks. Or participation fees can be paid by check. (The $52.30 registration fee cannot be paid by check.) Please make checks for participation fees payable to "Meridian School" and include the student's full name and "Dance Team" on the memo line. Please seal the check in an envelope and write "Coach Ashlie '' on the outside. Then please deposit the check in the blue drop box outside the Athletics Office.  DO NOT DROP OFF CHECKS TO A SCHOOL OFFICE.

Understanding the 2024-2025 Dance Team Participation Fee

The 2024-2025 participation fee for Dance Team  includes:

  • A minimum of  139.5 hours of practice for the Dance Team (includes the Summer Dance Camp)
    • Pro-rating is unavailable for dancers unavailable to attend all practices
  • 3 competitions, instead of 2
    • Pro-rating is unavailable for dancers unavailable to attend all competitions
  • New loaned Meridian Dance Team costumes for:
    • Pom/Games/Pep Rallies
    • Hip Hop
    • Contemporary
    • Jazz
  • New set of dancer attire purchased by the school for the dancer to keep:
    • Team Shirt/ Coverup (Events and Comp Only)
    • Hip Hop Tank Top (Competition Only)
    • Competition Tights
    • Camisole Biketard - go under Jazz costume
    • Hip Hop Shoes
  • A 2024-25 Meridian Athletics spirit wear T-shirt (to keep)

 

Officers will also receive:

  • 30 additional hours of practice
  • 1 additional entry (Varsity-level) in each of the three competitions
  • A loaned costume for the officer competition.

 

Dancers will need to provide their own:

  • Practice attire (specifications to be provided by the coaches)
  • Slipon Jazz Shoes
  • 2-Way Stretch Canvas Half-Sole
  • Water bottle
  • Dance bag for costumes
  • Make-up

Solos

Dancers can participate in a solo one, two or all three of the competitions for an additional participation fee. The Dance Team coaches can guide dancers through this process, and the Athletics Department will issue separate invoices for these additional competitions. These invoices are due in full by the due date even if the dancer decides not to participate or becomes unable to participate.
