Biographies - After School K-5th
Triple A Manager
Kathryn Patschke joined us as the Triple A Manager in May of 2018. She brings her expertise in child development and staff management. She came to us with a background as the Program Director of a physical development center with nearly 8 years of experience. She holds an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and is currently pursuing her Bachelors in Youth and Community Studies with a focus in Special Populations at the University of Texas at Austin. What drew her to Meridian was the mission. She believes in the importance of helping students develop social and intellectual skills that will not only help them in their transition into adulthood and into the workforce, but more importantly help them develop relationships to enjoy a fulfilling life.
Enrichment Activity Coordinator (K-5th)
Geetanjali Soni joined Meridian in Fall of 2011 as the enrichment leader for first grade. She continued on in successive years as the second and third grade leader. After working as the Senior Enrichment Leader, Mrs. Soni was promoted to the Enrichment Coordinator position. As the Enrichment Coordinator, she plans and supervises enriching activities and events for the entire program. In 2016 she was promoted to the assistant manager as well as overseeing enrichment curriculum. She has a Bachelor of Arts from Delhi University, India, Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University, and a Texas Teacher’s Certification for early childhood through fourth grade and ESL. She has over 20 years of teaching experience. She has worked as a tutor, mentor, aerobics instructor, and cosmetologist consultant. She currently teaches yoga, beginner chess, creative art classes, and substitutes in Round Rock ISD. Mrs. Soni is bilingual and can read and write in Hindi. Mrs. Soni was the co-manager and appraiser of a Destination Imagination team in 2015-16. She enjoys cooking, crafts, shopping, photography, creating henna designs, and family time. "Meridian’s after school program helps me to explore my own interests, hobbies, and ideas. I love the after school environment and encouraging staff that I work with." In Summer of 2017, she had the opportunity to oversee the BadgerDog Writing Camp hosted at Meridian School. Her philosophy for the after school program is Supervision, Safety and Structure.
Triple A Registrar and Receptionist
Jackie Soto joined Meridian in Fall 2014 as the Triple A Enrichment Program Receptionist and became the Triple A Enrichment Program Registrar in the spring of 2015. She attended Austin Everest Institute and graduated as a Medical Assistant in 2012. As a student at Everest Institute, she received hands - on training with patient care and communication; she is also well trained in both administrative and clinical procedures. Some of Ms. Soto’s interests include reading, learning new things, exercising, watching her favorite TV shows, and spending time with family. “In an orchestra, a diverse collection of instruments, each with its own unique sound, work together to produce a beautiful symphony. I’m excited to be a part of this team because we are all so unique each ‘with our own sound’ and it’s amazing to be part of such a diverse and collaborative environment.”
Mrs. Stowell (Formerly Ms. Davis)
Kathy joined Meridian in August 2017. She has three years of experience as a Pre-K Assistant Teacher. She also has seven years experience as a Clerical Receptionist. She enjoys traveling, reading, and decorating. One of her favorite authors is Dr. Seuss. "The more you read, the more things you will know, the the more that you learn, the more places you'll go."-Dr. Seuss
Group Leader K1
Ms. Williams joined Meridian as a part of the Triple A Staff in Fall of 2016. She joined because of the unique environment of Meridian and her passion for learning and sharing art. She has prior experience working with children as a tutor for all subjects. She enjoys exploring her creativity and sharing it with as many people as she can.
Merilyn Rodriguez joined Meridian School in February 2018. She attended Virginia College and graduated in 2018 as a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy Tech. She has helped with children between the ages of 5-10 years. She enjoys traveling, outdoors, learning new things, and spending quality time with family and friends. She wants to attend school once again to pursue being an elementary school teacher.
Group Leader K3
Tyffani Schmit joined the Triple A team in August of 2018. She gained some of her experience from teaching children how to swim, as well as a background of management, team leadership, and communication. She graduated high school from Manor New Technology and continued on her education until she had her daughter. Now she spends her free time swimming, swing dancing, and learning new tricks such as roller skating! What drew her to Meridian was the uplifting spirit of the Triple A Team and the vision that Meridian has for continuing education for children!
K-1 Support Staff
Group Leader 1A
Skylar Seeman joined Merdian in February 2018. Ms. Seeman has previously worked at the Round Rock Dell Diamond, directly in the Fun Zone and spent each Express baseball game with young students in an outdoor and fun environment. She credits the Fun Zone as the area where she gained her love in children’s education. Ms. Seeman also obtained her dental assisting license and became the dental assistant of a dental office in Round Rock, Texas. Here she realized her love for education and her passion to lead children which became her mission. Skylar Seeman enjoys inspiring children and is pursuing her love for children’s education by one day becoming a Elementary School Teacher. She believes in the importance of being involved in the role of helping children develop successfully into the bright future we all have here at Merdian.
Group Leader 1B
Kelly Alexander joined Triple A staff in May 2018. She has lots of experience with kids, as she worked as a gymnastics coach for ages 10 months to 12 years in a non-competitive environment for multiple years. Kelly brings a great spirit and passion fo children to the Triple A program. She enjoys shopping, being outdoors, photography, watching TV, playing with her dog, and spending time with family. One thing she loves most about being apart of the after school team is being able to get the kiddos to have fun and act silly while continuing their great learning day!
Yvonne Camarillo joined Meridian in August of 2017. She is certified in Management/Leadership. She also holds certificates in Capturing Kids Hearts and Making The PYP Happen In the Classroom. She attended Austin Community College and South University. Mrs. Camarillo has more than 20 years of management experience where she supervised various companies into becoming strong in leadership. She was the GM/Co-Owner in a well renowned restaurant in Corpus Christi, TX. In her present days she is pleased to invest in several opportunities that involve the real estate business. She has more than 4 years experience working with children. She worked for RRISD's Special Education Department where she has said "her students changed her life for the best". On her off days she loves writing, vacationing and spending time with family and friends.
Group Leader 2B
Aliza Rutter is excited for her first year with the Triple A Team in the 2018-2019 school year! She came to us with a background as a dance instructor and prior experience as an after school counselor. She is also a certified cosmetologist and group fitness instructor. She is currently pursuing a degree in accounting. Her hobbies include taking dance classes, exercising, crocheting, and art.
2-3 Support Staff
Mallory Matney joined Meridian in Fall of 2018 as part of the Triple A Enrichment Program's Support Personnel. After dabbling in several different languages, she is now currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Korean through the University of Texas at Arlington and intends to teach young children Korean in the future. She fell in love with her little nieces and nephews which prompted her to serve as a camp counselor, teacher's assistant, children's party attendant and babysitter. She thrives on creativity and loves dreaming up activities for the children to enjoy. She attended an Austin area public charter school herself which, combined with her love of foreign languages, sparked her interest in Meridian. Mallory is enthused by Meridian's IB school status and is proud to help spread the love of diversity, culture, and language.
Group Leader 3A
Jalyssa Russell began working at Meridian in March of 2015. She grew up in Central Pennsylvania and moved to Austin after living near Manhattan for a few years. She enjoys traveling, paddle boarding, writing, and television conventions. Her favorite part of being a group leader is teaching the kids how to write stories.
Group Leader 4A
Johann Mahler has worked at Triple A since November 2017. Before moving to Round Rock he was working in after school care in Denton, TX for three years. While in Denton he studied communications, film, and music production. During the summer, before the Fall of 2018, he continued to work on music production by sound designing the play for the Summer Youth Theater at the Vortex in Austin. He continues to use these skills to motivate and enrich his students creatively and artistically. "There is a type of art (music, art, theater etc.) out there for everyone. Learning your style helps build confidence in expressing yourself." - Solo
Group Leader 4B
Kimberly Smith joined Triple A in August 2018 as a Triple A Enrichment Program Leader. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University. She is currently in a Master’s Degree program for Health, Fitness and Wellness and hopes to be able to use her knowledge learned for the future as an enrichment leader. She has been working with children for over ten years in many fields as a site director, mentor and educator. She has worked with an AAU basketball team as an assistant coach, been a youth church mentor and teacher, and substituted also in Round Rock, Leander and Austin ISD. She enjoys skating, doing homework, resting, reading, walking her dog named Uno, and traveling when she has time. Her favorite quote she lives by is, “There’s more in you than you see in yourself”. This was a quote her dad would say to her all the time to keep her motivated, moving forward and determined for better. She is super excited to be working with the Triple A Program this year and hopes to bring as much to the table as she has learned.
Jessica Ochoa joins Meridian this 2018-2019 school year. She comes to Meridian with a lot of compassion for our students and excitement to see what this year has in store! While she helps us out with your wonderful children she hopes to continue her education to become a Vet Technician. She aspires to one day open a senior dog sanctuary to provide much needed love and care to older dogs who no longer have someone to care for them.
Group Leader 5A
Vanessa Owen joined Meridian in March of 2018 and is excited for the brand new school year! She is currently pursing a degree in Child Psychology and spent a year studying at Texas A&M Corpus Christi. Ms. Owen has had experience with working with children for 4 years as she use to work in the Fun Zone as a coordinator at the Dell Diamond. She enjoys working in fun and exciting environments and hope to encourage her kids to be the best they can be.
Group Leader 5B
Cassandra Galindo joined the Triple A Program in February of 2017 as a group leader. She took a break in May 2017 and returned to the after school program in March of 2018. She has been working with children for 2 years while pursuing a college degree in Veterinary Medicine. She is currently studying at ACC to get certified as a Veterinary Technician. She plans on transferring to Texas A&M at College Station to finish her degree. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her fur child Sydney Bay the Australian Shepard. “I love working with children because it allows me to tap into my inner child and have fun while inspiring and changing lives."
