Upcoming Playoff Games - Coed MS plays in the Area Championship on Wednesday, April 1! The winning team advances to the Regional Championship on Saturday, April 4!

Dance Team

The Dance Team is hosting a Spring Dance Camp for Meridian Lions in kindergarten through 5th grade on Saturday, April 11. Both the Dance Camp participants and Fierce Dance Team will perform at the 2026 Arts & Science Fest on April 18!

 

Class of 2026 Signing Day

Senior, Daniel H. has signed with Heidelberg University to play soccer! There will be a Signing Day Event in the Mays Lobby on Thursday, April 2  during Advisory (1:50 - 2:20 p.m.)  to honor Daniel and his accomplishment. Please stop by to congratulate Daniel and to wish him luck with his next team!

 

Get ready for 2026-2027 Sports! (current 6-11 / rising 7-12)

New for 2026-2027 Sports! Flag Football and Volleyball tryouts will be held in May! Dance Team tryouts will be in April!

Registration for Competitive Cross Country, Competitive Dance Team, Competitive Flag Football, and Competitive Volleyball opens Wednesday, April 15 and ends at 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 23. The only competitive sport with a late registration will be Cross Country because Cross Country’s tryouts will be shortly after school resumes in August. The following is a snapshot of each Fall Competitive Sport. Dates remain subject to change.

 

Season details, including the practice schedule and summer training schedule, will be published in each sports web section by April 15. In the meantime, the following information is shared as early in the year as possible to help families plan and avoid missing opportunities to participate in these competitive sports experiences for the 2026-2027 academic year,

 

Competitive Dance Team (current 6-11 / rising 7-12)

Registration: April 15 through 9 p.m. on April 23. No late registration available.

Physical Forms: Due April 23.

Mandatory Pre-Tryout Clinics: April 27, 28, 29.

Mandatory Tryouts: Thursday, April 30.

 

Competitive Flag Football (current 6-11 / rising 7-12)

Registration: April 15 through 9 p.m. on April 23. No late registration available.

Physical Forms:  Due April 23.

Mandatory Tryouts: Friday, May 15 after school and Saturday, May 16

 

Competitive Volleyball (Girls Volleyball = current 6-11 / rising 7-12; Boys Volleyball = current 7-11 / rising 8-12)

Registration: April 15 through 9 p.m. on April 23. No late registration available.

Physical Forms: Due April 23.

Mandatory Tryouts: Wednesday, May 13 and Thursday, May 14 after school.

 

Competitive Cross Country (current 6-11 / rising 7-12)

Regular Registration ($52.30): April 15 through 9 p.m. on April 23. 

Late Registration ($104.60):  July 22 through 9 p.m. on July 30. This is the only sport with a late registration.

Physical Forms:  Due August 1.

Mandatory Tryouts: Saturday, August 15.

Athletics Awards Ceremony

All students who participated in Meridian competitive sports this school year are invited to attend the Athletics Awards Ceremony in the Mays Gym on Monday, April 27 at 5:30 p.m. Student athletes are encouraged to dress up for this event and are welcome to invite their parents/guardians to join them. RSVP by April 22.

Lettering

High school students who participate in their competitive, performance, or leadership extracurricular or co-curricular activity at the highest level could letter in their activity this year if all lettering requirements are met.  Students who letter are eligible to purchase a Meridian letter jacket and/or jacket sleeve patch representing their activity. Coaches and advisors will nominate students who meet this year’s lettering requirements by the deadline, which is Friday, April 3. The list of students who have lettered in 2025-2026 will be  published on the Lettering Jackets & Lettering web page on April 22. Student Commitment Expectations for Competitive Sports   Students who wish to participate in competitive sports are expected to participate in every practice and be available to participate in every competition.    Students who know they have an existing conflict that will interfere with their ability to participate as much as the coach and their teammates expect are encouraged to submit a Standing Conflict Waiver.   Learn more on the Student Commitment Expectations for Competitive Sports webpage.

The Meridian Mays Gym (in the Middle School building) is home to 6 Volleyball teams and 7 Basketball teams!

 

Home Gym Admissions:

Cash and credit card accept.

$5 adults; $1 for adults wearing Meridian spirit wear; $3 for students not wearing Meridian spirit wear or school uniform.

 

Meridian staff always admitted for FREE with their badge.

 

Families of our teams that are playing are admitted for FREE to home games at Meridian w/ their Family Pass.

 

New for 2025-2026! Meridian students will be admitted for free into home Volleyball and Basketball games when wearing Meridian spirit wear or Meridian school uniform!
