Terms for Participation
Submission of a 2025-2026 sports registration form (via MySchoolBucks while paying the registration/processing fee) indicates that the parent/guardian and the participating student have read and agree to the Athletics Terms for Participation.
New topics for the 2025-2026 Athletics Terms for Participation:
- Building Team Spirit and Team Community:
Once the team is formed, it is up to the participants and their families to build the team community. This is often accomplished when parents/guardians coordinate team meals, outings, celebrations, and more. Teams might choose to arrange carpooling, make goody bags for games, go to a college or professional sports competition together, plan potluck meals, decorate cars for away or playoff competitions, and more. Parents/guardians can use TeamApp to coordinate community-building activities. Taking and sharing team photos and videos in the TeamApp Gallery also helps build team spirit and team community. Student athletes are encouraged to brainstorm ideas with their teammates and coach and then to ask for help bringing their ideas to fruition from their parents/guardians.
Other than providing practice opportunities, competitions, and Meridian Athletics traditions such Senior Nights, Homecoming, and the Athletics Awards Ceremony, it is not the role of the Athletics Department to create and provide opportunities for teams to build their community.
The more a team comes together outside of practices and competitions, the stronger the team and the better the experience for the team community.
